SeaView – Community Security and Safety
As does every resident, the SeaView Residents Association (SRA) takes community security very seriously. This is the primary reason for the new security systems at both Seaview entrances. Additionally, SRA provides neighborhood email notifications with respect to security issues and is working toward enhanced Block Captain and Neighborhood Watch programs.
Community security programs encompass more than one area of protection, prevention and safety. The following are the principal segments of the security program for our neighborhood:
- RPV Entrance Camera System – Along with other functionality, there are cameras recording all vehicles and their license plates (or lack of license plates) that is directly linked to the LA County Sheriff’s office at every entry/exit road into/out of RPV.
- SeaView Entrance Camera System – SRA has contracted with a national vendor and installed a two-camera array (for both entrance and egress) at both SeaView entrances. Along with other functionality, the cameras record vehicles and their license plates (or lack of license plates) that is directly linked to the LA County Sheriff’s office.
- SeaView Residents Home Security System – The third level of neighborhood security is your own home security system. This segment relies on homeowners’ video footage that can be shared with the LA County Sheriff’s office to identify bad actors. As an FYI, RPV has a Public Safety Reimbursement Program for homeowners who install an approved doorbell camera system.
