03/13/24 COMMUNITY NOTICE From SRA Board: Stakeholders Meetings

Land Movement update:

· LA sanitation district guardrails along PVDS. No new updates. The City has updates for emergency procedures for sewer line disruption that will be posted to the landslide website. Will also be distributed within the next few weeks to community groups for distribution.

· Sewer lines in Seaview. The City working with public works to re-route breaking sewer lines for easier access.

    • Request made for PBC sewer lines to be scoped. Ramzi relates that they are working on diversion plans for these areas, but also to do CCTV inspections of lines. The PBC line in question spans the length of the canyon.

· SCE updates.

    • Burma trail – 13 of 40 poles were topped this past week. Contact with Cox to remove equipment from all of the poles for final removal. Anticipated to be completed by May.
    • 4 poles on Exultant to be replaced on the 21st. Coordinating with Frontier who will be present. They anticipate putting in their equipment on the following day.
    • Tree trimming along Dauntless behind the red-tagged homes at the time of Seaview pole replacement.

· So. Cal Gas. They have a map and table of projects that will be shared once they have clearance to share.

· Cal Water

    • Tie-ins scheduled for this week for the Clovetree project
    • The Vanderlip replacements are high priority project as soon as materials come in.
    • PVDS in front of Wayfarers chapel. Final testing is underway, tie-in expected next week.
    • There was a break in a water line on Admirable. It has been repaired and was due to tree roots, not due to land movement.

· EIR for the Portuguese Bend project will be on the City Council upcoming 3-19 Agenda. Prioritized project will be two hydrogers to be introduced at the April 2nd meeting for work to begin in May. This part of the City Report will be likely available by Friday AM. Also asking for directions from the City for assistance to KCLAD and ACLAD in the form on a loan to the districts. If you wish to support these efforts, the recommendation is to either show up or get online in support of the City Staff recommendations. Ara Mihranian recommends that if citizens would like to write the city council to use the generic city council email address and to focus also on writing your county and state officials as that will be the route to best funding support.

· PVDS at Peppertree drainage. No updates

· GPS survey data has just come in. The City anticipates an update next week. Next survey will be late April or early May.

· PVDS roadway repairs. There will need to be significant re-grading of the “ski-jump” area. Analysis and design of that is underway. There will likely be road closure for a period to do this. More information to come on this.

· Crack filling in Seaview. Please continue to advise the City of new cracks as it is helpful to them to prioritize new cracks. A new movement on Exultant and Dauntless was reported and city will follow up on this.

· KCLAD. Wells are functioning. Well #1 which was broken has been repaired. The water table at the shallow well is getting close to the point where they can replace the deep sheared well. New drainage plans are near completion for presentation to the City Council. Three plans are being prepared. Five-point program has been completed with priority projects and estimated costs for use in soliciting fundings. That is being prepared for FEMA review.

· ACLAD. Will be replacing one of their lines that has had constant leaking. Tour of the upper part of the canyon where water is seeping into the canyon. Developing plan to reroute that water into the ACLAD drainage system. Request for lining of Altamira Canyon has been submitted to Senator Butler. The application process is perceived to be very clumsy so follow-up with direct communication is planned.

· Geologists report. On Exultant, the new movement that has been seen is on the Eastern boundary of the landslide. Mike Phipps thinks it is not likely to be as pronounced as the movement along Dauntless as it on the lateral margin, but the site will be monitored.

· Disaster planning. No significant new updates.

· City of Rolling Hills. Has met to go over their current storm drain systems and drainage in the flying triangle area. Preliminary evaluation shows that it is LA county drains in the area and that city does not have any drainage system in the area.
